30 July 2020 | London: Core Technology Systems Ltd, a Microsoft Gold partner managed service provider, is thrilled to announce that Louise Mahrra, Core’s Head of Marketing, has been shortlisted as a finalist at the CRN Women in Channel Awards 2020 in the category of Role Model of the Year – Reseller/Solution Provider.

Now in their third year, the Women in Channel Awards recognise the achievements of the female entrepreneurs, leaders and outstanding employees working in the IT channel, who drive success in their organisation and inspire young females that are considering a career in the industry. By celebrating the success of women in the channel, the awards also hope to play a part in tackling the gender diversity problem in the technology industry.

More than 800 nominations – a record number - were received for this year’s awards, across 20 categories.

Conor Callanan, CEO of Core, said: “Congratulations to Louise on being shortlisted at this year’s CRN Women in Channel awards. Since joining Core a little over 12 months ago, Louise’s hard work, passion for marketing and commitment to achieving excellence has been inspiring, not only to her immediate team but the wider business, and we’re delighted to see that being recognised.”

Callanan continued: “While the technology industry is not as gender diverse as it should be, it is improving. Awards such as these highlight the incredible achievements and talents of women working in the sector, and the invaluable contribution they make to the success of the industry.”

These awards are different to many others because they are about the women who strive for change across the technology sector. The award winners will be decided by an independent judging panel of 25 business leaders in the technology industry, with a virtual ceremony being held across two days on 14 and 15 October 2020.

Commenting on her nomination, Louise said: I am immensely proud to be a Finalist in the CRN Women in Channel Awards in the category of Role Model of the Year. I am motivated by being able to support, nurture and mentor those around me – both in my team and outside work – to find success on their career path and achieve job satisfaction. I have made it my mission at Core to dispel some of the myths around working IT by showcasing the talented and unique people behind the brand to bring out the real heart of the company.

Rye Austin, Chief Commercial Officer of Core concludes: “I am hugely proud of Louise; to be shortlisted as a finalist is testament to the inspirational leadership Louise brings to her team, and to Core. We are committed to creating a diverse team of highly-skilled people who all share a passion and commitment to providing our customers with outstanding solutions and the best service. We recognise the immense contribution our female employees make to our team. Through their unique talents, they help drive our success and shape our culture. It’s great to see an awards ceremony dedicated to celebrating this, too.
