Microsoft 365 enterprise-grade cloud delivers the governance, compliance and security capabilities for customers in every sector. But many organisations aren't using these capabilities and features to their full potential. This is often down to a lack of in-house resources, staff being time poor and budget constraints which pose greater risks in the long-term.

You might not know it, but all the tools are in place within Microsoft 365 to keep you secure, compliant and able to collaborate without fear of network attacks and data breaches.

We explored the security and compliance features of Microsoft 365 in our recent webinar, looking at how organisations can collaborate without compromise, stay compliant and plan for governance, and stay secure once the right controls are in place.

Now more than ever, it's vital that teams can collaborate from any location and stay totally secure. The security features built in to Microsoft 365 make this possible, as Fionn Klimmek, Microsoft's Modern Work and Security Specialist exlpains in his session. M365's enterprise-class security is built around identity and access management, threat protection, information protection and security management. The security and compliance features within M365 address these key areas so that organisations can collaborate without compromise, from any where and on any device. Every day, Microsoft analyse more than six trillion threat signals to inform their security features and ensure they respond to an ever-changing security and threat landscape.

Your organisation's compliance can be managed through the Microsoft 365 Compliance Centre, which Core's Client Solutions Director, Eamon McGann, covers. The Compliance Centre dashboard enables you to see what compliance functionality you have in place, and allows you to turn on the relevant tools. The Compliance Centre allows organisations to build their compliance around effectively classifying, protecting and governing data. Many organisations already have access to the Compliance Centre, but a free trial can give you access to your dashboard to see your compliance landscape.

When it comes to staying secure, Microsoft Defense in Depth offers multiple layers of security so that organisations can monitor, detect and block potential attacks in real time, before they can successfully breach the network. IT teams should also ensure that you are using the security features that are already in place to their full potential. Exchange Online Protection (EOP) is there to protect your mailboxes; now is the time to fine tune or configure your policies to suit your organisation's needs. Ensure that Multifactor Authentication (MFA) is switched on for all users and enforce its use. And strengthen your security further by using Microsoft Defender for Office 365 (which was known as ATP) so that safe links and attachments are enforced in email.
