Core has returned from The Emergency Tech Show (ETS) with new connections, valuable industry insight and a renewed understanding of the technology priorities facing emergency services and public sector organisations.
Held at the NEC Birmingham from 16-17 September 2026, The Emergency Tech Show brings together leaders and technology specialists from across police, fire and rescue, ambulance, resilience and local authorities to explore how technology can support safer, more effective public services.
For Core, the event provided an opportunity to meet with customers, partners and new contacts, while having open and practical conversations about some of the biggest challenges facing organisations today – from digital transformation and cyber security to AI, data, identity and access management, and modern ways of working.
Representing Core at the event were Alice Sullivan, Peter Franklin and Mike Lynch, who spent two busy days meeting organisations from across the blue-light, emergency services and wider public sector communities.
One of the key takeaways from the event was the importance of connecting technology with the realities of frontline operations.
Emergency services operate in environments where reliability, security and resilience are not optional. Technology needs to work when it matters, while also helping teams reduce administration, access information more easily and make better use of data.
Mike Lynch, Business Development Manager from Core said: “What stood out to me at ETS was the quality of the conversations. There is a real appetite across emergency services to use technology to improve the way people work.”
AI was understandably high on the agenda, with organisations exploring how emerging technologies could be adopted responsibly and effectively. Alongside the opportunities, there was also a strong focus on cyber resilience, security and ensuring that organisations have the right foundations in place to make the most of new technology.
Conversations also highlighted the continued importance of modernising legacy environments, improving collaboration and making data more accessible, while maintaining the security and resilience required in mission-critical settings.
“The conversations around AI and digital transformation were particularly interesting because organisations are moving beyond simply asking what the technology can do. They’re asking how it can be applied safely, securely and in a way that delivers tangible value to their people and the communities they serve. For us, that reinforced the importance of combining technology expertise with a real understanding of the environments our customers operate in.” — Alice Sullivan, Head of Marketing, Core
Beyond the technology itself, ETS provided an important opportunity for Core to strengthen existing relationships and build new ones across the sector.
The team came away from the event with a number of promising conversations and opportunities to continue exploring how Core can support organisations through technology, security and managed services.
With experience across police, the NHS and national law enforcement, Core works with organisations operating in complex and highly demanding environments. Its capabilities span Microsoft 365 and collaboration, Power Platform and automation, Azure and cloud services, managed IT and security, mobile and frontline working, and migration and modernisation.
The event reinforced Core’s belief that successful digital transformation is not simply about introducing new technology. It is about understanding the people, processes and operational challenges behind it and creating solutions that are secure, resilient and practical.
As the team looks ahead, Core will continue the conversations started at ETS and work with customers and partners to explore how technology can help emergency services and public sector organisations work smarter, respond faster and operate more securely.
