Meet David, Head CRM Architect in the CRM team.

How long have you worked for Core?

Either 19 years, or just over 5. I was a founder of Excitation Ltd in 2000, and in 2014 it was bought by Core.

What was your first day like?

My first day at Excitation was probably working out what we were about to do and installing software on our first server. The first day at Core was either taken up with finalising the paperwork for the purchase of Excitation, or getting back to a normal day.

What does working here mean to you?

The ability to continue providing solutions based on Dynamics 365, which I’ve been doing since 2004 (give or take a few product name changes).

20170629_30_Core1343_David_JennawayHow would you describe what you do?

I’m ultimately responsible for ensuring we deliver the Dynamics 365 solutions that we promised customers. This entails everything from ensuring the promises are deliverable, through solution architecture and design, then implementation work (customisation, development, data integrations), and being a technical escalation point. I also have to look to the future, keeping up with upcoming changes to Dynamics 365 (mostly via the MVP channel) and future changes to our CoreMem product.

Tell us about the Microsoft accreditations and badges that you have.

My MCP transcript runs to 4 pages as a PDF, and looks to include 15 certifications. It started with Windows 3.1 for Workgroups in 1994, but I’ve managed to avoid taking exams for the last few years as I’ve delegated this to the other consultants. I’ve also been a Business Applications MVP for 13 years.

What's the best part of your job?

A combination of being able to stay at a technical cutting-edge, but also applying the technical knowledge to practical customer solutions.

Describe a typical day...

There’s no such thing!

If you could have one super power, what would it be?

I don’t actually think I’d like to have powers that others don’t have; it would feel like cheating.

What's your favourite food?

I’ll consider Belgian beer to count as food...

If you could be an animal, what would you be and why?

I expect the experience of being any type of animal would be so different, I can’t really choose one over another.

Where to from here?
